To the contrary, this model is virtually Cuisinart's least expensive grinder - with the "premier" grinder being well in excess of $100. Sure - I found that if I held the grinder lid down and activated the grinding process for 10 seconds or so, beans were left in chunks - but if I followed instructions and processed for around 30 seconds the resulting coffee was evenly ground and in a consistency appropriate to my drip coffee machine. One reviewer - a chef - complained about the performance of what he perceived to be Cuisinart's "premier coffee grinder". I must speak in defence of the Cuisinart Grind Central Coffee Grinder. it's pretty simple and straight forward to twist this piece off; and once done, it is easily washed. 40 seconds is a long time - watch the second hand of a clock.
The instructions provided with this product state a grinding time of 20 to 40 seconds, depending on the strength of coffee desired.
For the money, I have found this grinder to be perfectly acceptable.
As for the person who said she couldn't get the grinding cup off the machine.
Like some other reviewers, I am somewhat perplexed by the extremely negative comments made about this little machine.
To the person who said that the machine didn't grind her spices evenly, I say, "it's not meant for spices - it's meant for coffee".
The primary complaints voiced by reviewers appear to be that the burr grinding mechanism doesn't grind the beans appropriately - sometimes leaving half beans in the grinding container.
I can only surmise that these individuals did not grind the beans long enough.
what can I say.
Essentially, the appliance is attractive, easily cleaned, reasonably quiet to operate, creates a bean grind that makes perfectly good coffee, and, in my opinion, is a bargain at under $30.
Our Krupps grinder lived and worked hard for 20 years. This Cuisinart grinder stopped running after about 9 months. We are going back to Krupps. So much for the quality reputation of Cuisinart.
It will take a few moments, but you should be able to grind it all.I don't know why there are so many negative reviews. I've had this grinder for six years and it works well. I never had an issues and it grinds all the beans to a powder. I'm beginning to wonder if companies are paying others to post negative reviews on their competitors. This doesn't deserve a 1 star.
Good value for the money. Just wish it had an automatic feature when grinding. You have to press & hold the button to grind the beans. Other than that, Ilike it.
i am a professional chef and coffee lover.this is touted as cuisinart's premium grinder.NOT.i had the previous model of this (can't find model number) for years and years.it was a real workhorse providing consistent even grind with no problems until it finally wore out.this model makes a loud motor noise and provides an uneven grind.i had to order twice through amazon to get one delievered.the first one got "lost" in shipping.it took almost three weeks to arrive.dealing with amazon "service" was very difficult(understanding of basic english on their part would have helped) and it took four tries to get the billing cleaned up.overall a very poor buying experience for a mediocre product.I DO NOT RECOMMEND
